Positioned about 12 kilometers southwest of Falsterbo, Sweden, and an equal distance east of Stevns Klint, Denmark, it guides vessels turning into the Baltic Sea. The lighthouse replaced Lightship 28 Falsterborev, which had served as Sweden's final active lightship station.
