This white, octagonal concrete tower, standing 8 meters tall, was first built in 1910. It is situated on the highest point of a high island approximately 8 kilometers south of Oran. The lighthouse was destroyed by U.S. air raids during World War II and subsequently rebuilt with American assistance. Its light flashes white every 15 seconds from a focal height of 93 meters, with a geographic range of 24.1 nautical miles. Two nearby one-story concrete keeper's cottages remain from its operational past.
