Location & Light Range
About Eldaflesene Lighthouse
Eldaflesene was a concrete structure built on piles, standing 7.5 meters high and topped with a red roof. The lantern emitted a green flash. Situated on a skerry in Kvæfjord, approximately 3 km north of Elde, it served local navigation. The structure included a 7.5-meter lantern positioned on a platform supported by piles. Its focal height was 13 meters, and it had a geographic range of 3 nautical miles. Eldaflesene was declared inactive in 2014 and is no longer listed in the Norwegian Fyrliste.
Why it matters: The light guided vessels safely past the skerry it occupied, helping them avoid potential hazards within the Kvæfjord. Its unique design, a lantern on a pile-supported platform, provided a distinct visual cue for sailors.
