It emits an occulting white or red light every 5 seconds, visible for 10.9 nautical miles. The lighthouse is situated on the northeast point of Campbell Island, approximately 3 km north of Bella Bella. This location serves as a familiar landmark on the Inside Passage, where vessels are required to slow down for a tight turn around the point. The site is open to the public, but the tower remains closed.
