About Country Island Lighthouse

An octagonal concrete tower, painted white with a red lantern, stands 13.5 meters tall and emits a long white flash every 20 seconds from a focal height of 16.5 meters. This lighthouse, first lit in 1965, replaced an earlier structure from 1927. The station was originally established in 1873. The keeper's houses were demolished in 2004, leaving the automated tower as the sole structure. The light has a geographic range of 12.3 nautical miles.
