The Cap de la Table Lighthouse, built of concrete in 1919, is an octagonal white tower standing 12 meters tall. Its lantern, painted red, sits atop the structure. The light emits a single red flash every 6 seconds, visible for 16 nautical miles. The keeper's houses, constructed in 1960, were demolished in 2011. The lighthouse station has also been utilized by a tour company for overnight accommodations. While the tower is closed to visitors, the site itself is accessible.
Why it matters: This lighthouse is important for guiding vessels around the Cap de la Table headland on Anticosti Island's northeast coast.
