A cylindrical concrete tower stands 10 meters tall on a small islet off the western tip of Jindo, South Korea. Its exterior is painted black with a single red horizontal band. The light emits a white flash every six seconds from a focal height of 52 meters, visible for 19 nautical miles. This lighthouse is located south of Gasado, near Jisan-myeon, and is accessible only by boat. Its nearest port is Daebul/Yeongam-gun, 25 kilometers away.
Why it matters: The lighthouse guides vessels navigating the busy maritime area off the western tip of Jindo, an important region for local shipping traffic.
