A square pyramidal skeletal tower with an enclosed lantern and watch room, the Brébeuf Range Rear light was built in 1915 and stood 27 meters tall. It was painted white with red trim and featured a red vertical stripe along the range line. The lighthouse was located on the west side of Beausoleil Island, within Georgian Bay Islands National Park. Access to the site was available via passenger ferry from Honey Harbour. The structure was demolished in 2024, though its lantern and upper section were removed intact.
Why it matters: As a Range Rear light, Brébeuf was essential for precise navigation in Georgian Bay, guiding vessels along a critical alignment. The removal of its key components for potential reassembly elsewhere offers a unique opportunity for preservation.
