Built in 1905, the Bear River Lighthouse is a square pyramidal wood tower standing 9 meters tall. It is painted white and topped with a lantern. The structure marks the entrance to the Bear River, which forms the border between Digby and Annapolis Counties. Although its light was extinguished in 2001, the lighthouse was recognized as a Heritage Lighthouse in 2015. Ownership was formally transferred in 2021, and restoration efforts began in 2022 with the aim of creating a visitor park.
