About Bass River Lighthouse
A square pyramidal wood tower, standing 10 meters tall and topped with a lantern and gallery, was built in 1907. This structure was attached to a one-story wood residence. It stood at the mouth of the Bass River, at the end of Wharf Road, approximately 2.5 kilometers south of the village of Bass River. The lighthouse was in operation from 1907 until 1992. Following its deactivation, the property was sold in 1994. The tower was then incorporated into a private summer home built around three sides of the original structure.
