About Arnøya Lighthouse
Also known as: Arnøya (Arnøy)
The Arnøya Lighthouse stands at the tip of Haugnes, a promontory on the south coast of Arnøy. This octagonal fiberglass tower, completed in 2025, stands 6 meters tall with its focal height at 7 meters. It is painted white with a red roof and features two black horizontal bands. The light emits two white, red, or green flashes every 8 seconds, depending on the bearing. This new structure replaced an earlier skeletal tower.
Why it matters: This light is essential for safe navigation around the Haugnes promontory, guiding vessels through potentially hazardous waters and providing critical visual cues for approaching mariners.
