A Ukrainian drone struck the Skiros on August 16 as the tanker left the CPC terminal near Novorossiysk with a cargo of Russian crude. The drone hit the deck and bridge area; a small fire broke out. The crew put it out. No one was hurt, and no oil leaked.
It was the first strike on a tanker at the terminal in roughly three weeks. Ukraine has said it would not target tankers at the CPC facility loading Kazakh-origin oil. The Skiros was carrying Russian crude.
