Three crew members of the Nadezhda were seriously injured on the evening of August 3 when drones struck the ship about 20 nautical miles off Novorossiysk. The Cameroon-flagged Ro-Ro cargo ship was on its way from the Russian Black Sea port to Samsun, Turkey, when it was hit. Fire broke out at the bow. All 22 crew were evacuated to Russian territory. The ship's captain, Yalcin Sahin, told Turkish media that six or seven Ukrainian drones had struck the ship.
