Six ships transited the Strait of Hormuz on Monday, August 11 - the lowest daily count in weeks, according to shipping data from Kpler.

The figure compares with a 10-day running average of about 11. Reuters reported the data on Tuesday morning. Four ships entered the waterway, including two empty oil product ships. Two exited: one carrying LPG and one carrying residual fuels.

Before the current conflict, 130 to 140 ships typically passed through each day. That baseline has dropped as the US-Iran war dragged on, and Monday's count shows traffic has not recovered.

Hopes for a peace deal have faded. Previous rounds of mediation stalled. With no ceasefire in place, operators have been pulling back rather than risk their ships in a waterway where attacks have continued.
