Explosions hit Qeshm Island in the early hours of July 23. US Central Command confirmed another overnight round of strikes on Iran, saying the operation targeted missile and drone sites, naval assets, and coastal defense installations across the country's south.
Ten blasts at Sirik. Four at Mesen. Both towns are on the island in the Strait of Hormuz. CENTCOM called it the 12th consecutive night US forces had struck Iranian military infrastructure.
The stated purpose hasn't changed: degrade Iran's capacity to attack commercial ships using the strait. US forces began the campaign in early July, launching more than 80 strikes in a single night before settling into the nightly routine now in its second week.
