BLACK MARLIN Delivers World’s Largest Electric Ferry to Uruguay

China Zorrilla is the world's largest battery-electric ferry. Incat Tasmania built it from aluminium, about 130 meters long, with capacity for 2,100 passengers and 225 vehicles. The battery bank holds more than 40 MWh and drives water-jet propulsion.
Buquebus will operate the ferry between Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay and Buenos Aires, a crossing of roughly 30 nautical miles across the Rio de la Plata. Charging infrastructure at both terminals lets the battery recharge between runs, according to autoevolution.
Incat has three more electric ferries of similar size under construction for Molslinjen in Denmark, according to The Maritime Executive.
