An inflatable boat caught fire in the English Channel on August 4. It was carrying 157 people. French and British rescue teams responded and pulled everyone from the water. No deaths were recorded.
The boat had been attempting the crossing from France to England. Sky News reported that at least 11 rescue units from both countries took part in the operation. AP News, BBC, and CNN all confirmed the fire, the number of people on board, and the rescue.
Earlier the same week, in a separate incident, French authorities reported that four people had died attempting the same crossing, according to AP News.
