Hemnes består av tettstedene Hemnesberget, Finneidfjord, Bjerka, Bleikvasslia og Korgen. Korgen er administrasjonssenter. Kommunen har et areal på 1 588,53 km², og et folketall på 4 553 per 1. januar 2014.
