A white concrete post tower 8 meters tall stands at the west end of Uido, an island west of Dochodo in South Korea's South Jeolla region. The lighthouse has a focal height of 83 meters and emits a white flash every 5 seconds, visible for 23 nautical miles. The structure is a red concrete tower. While the site is accessible to the public, the tower itself remains closed. It is located approximately 30 kilometers from the nearest port of Daebul/Yeongam-gun.
Why it matters: This lighthouse marks the western edge of Uido, guiding vessels through the waters west of Dochodo and contributing to safer navigation in the Korean archipelago.
