About Teacapán Lighthouse
A square pyramidal skeletal tower constructed of metal, 17 meters in height, with the light situated 16 meters above sea level. The structure is painted white. Its light displays a single white flash every 6 seconds and has a geographic range of 12.2 nautical miles. Situated on the north side of an inlet near the southern boundary of Sinaloa, it is close to Mazatlán. The light's position was moved about 200 meters westward in 2018. Visitors can access the site, but the tower itself is off-limits.
Why it matters: This navigation aid marks the entrance to the inlet, assisting local fishing vessels and other craft transiting the waterway.
