Also known as: Tampico Escollera Norte (North Breakwater)
This white concrete tower stands 6 meters tall at the end of the north breakwater, marking the entrance to the Río Pánuco and Tampico's harbor. The square pyramidal structure is topped by a similar skeletal tower. It emits a red flash every 5 seconds, visible for 10.4 nautical miles. The site is open to visitors, though the tower itself is closed. It is located 4.2 kilometers from the port of Tampico.
Why it matters: The lighthouse warns vessels of the breakwater's end, helping them navigate safely into Tampico's busy harbor and the Río Pánuco.
