Located on Skagatá, a cape on Iceland's northern coast, this lighthouse is about 80 km northwest of Sauðárkrókur. The existing tower, a 9-meter yellow cylindrical concrete structure with a red lantern and gallery, was erected in 1935. Its light, at a focal height of 18 meters, flashes white every 10 seconds (Fl W 10s) with a 12.7 nautical mile range. The station's history began with its establishment in 1913.
