About Sindotaseo Lighthouse
The Sindotaseo Lighthouse, built in 2005, stands as a cylindrical concrete tower painted green. It stands 15 meters tall, with its light positioned 16 meters above sea level. The lighthouse emits a single green flash every six seconds, visible for 12.2 nautical miles. It is located on a reef situated about 8 kilometers north of Taean harbor, marking the western side of the channel leading to Incheon. Access to the site is by boat, though the tower itself is closed to the public.
Why it matters: This lighthouse, along with Gudo Light, defines the approach channel to Incheon, helping vessels avoid hazardous reefs.
