Also known as: Shi'b Shear (Shab Shear)
This lighthouse is a cylindrical stone and fiberglass tower standing 7 meters tall, with a focal height of 6 meters. It displays a white light with a single flash every 5 seconds. The structure is yellow with a black horizontal band and is mounted on a stone pier. It is situated at the south end of a reef approximately 6 kilometers east of the Hyndman Reef in the Red Sea. While the site is open to visitors, the tower itself is closed.
Why it matters: The lighthouse warns vessels of the reef it marks, guiding ships through this part of the Red Sea and preventing groundings.
