Previously, it was displayed from a short skeletal tower that stood on a one-story concrete equipment building. Both the original skeletal tower and the equipment building have since been removed. The light exhibits a white flash every 6 seconds and has a geographic range of 10.4 nautical miles. The site is accessible by boat, but the mast structure is closed to the public.
Why it matters: This light warns mariners of submerged and exposed dangers in the waters off Santa Maria del Focallo, aiding navigation in this section of the Mediterranean.
