About Barletta-Andria-Trani Province Lighthouses Lighthouse
This lighthouse was located in downtown Barletta, Italy, at the intersection of Via Milano and Via Firenze. The structure featured an octagonal masonry tower mounted on a square stone base and stood 28 meters tall, with a focal height of 30 meters. Its light emitted a continuous white flash. The lighthouse was reported out of service in 2015 and officially dropped from the Admiralty list in June 2017. The site remains open to the public, but the tower is closed.
Why it matters: Its distinctive placement on the Chiesa dei Monaci made it an unusual example of a navigational aid integrated directly into a historic urban religious structure, holding local significance for maritime traffic approaching Barletta.
