About Salvador South Breakwater Lighthouse
A red, cylindrical fiberglass tower stands 6 meters tall at the end of Salvador's south breakwater. The light has a focal height of 10 meters and emits a red flash every 3 seconds. This structure replaced an earlier hexagonal pyramidal concrete tower. The tower is located about 6 kilometers north of the Farol da Barra and 0.7 kilometers from the port of Salvador.
