Oxeiá Lighthouse

Fl (2) White 15s🇬🇷Ithaca Municipality, GROperational

Also known as: Oxeiá (Oxía, Oksia)

The Oxeiá Lighthouse, established in 1899, is located on the southern point of Oxeiá island. The structure consists of a round, 8-meter-high rubblestone tower with a lantern and gallery, adjoined to the ocean-facing side of a 2-story keeper's residence. The residence's upper floor was constructed after the initial build. The light shows a white flash every 15 seconds (Fl W 15s). This facility is situated at the northern entry to the Gulf of Patras. Access to the site is permitted, but the tower remains inaccessible.

Why it matters: This navigational aid marks the northern entry to the Gulf of Patras, a channel connecting to the Gulf of Corinth. The lighthouse's original design, comprising a stone tower and an attached dwelling with a later-added upper level, provides a unique visual reference.
