Approximately 75% of the way up the tower is a large octagonal observation deck. The light projects a white flash every 10 seconds, with a geographic range of 20.2 nautical miles. It is situated 1.6 kilometers from Yeosu, the closest port.
Why it matters: This light serves as a navigation aid for ships entering the waters near Odongdo Island, an area used by fishing vessels and tourist ferries.
