About New Manora Breakwater Lighthouse
The New Manora Breakwater Lighthouse, built in 2013, is an 8-meter tall triangular skeletal tower situated at the end of an extended breakwater. With a focal height of 14 meters, it emits a white flash every 5 seconds. This structure stands approximately 1 kilometer from the nearest port, Karachi. It was erected to guide ships entering the port and to mark the new length of the breakwater, which protects the harbor. The Karachi Port Trust oversees its operation.
Why it matters: This lighthouse warns vessels about the extended Manora breakwater, which protects Karachi's harbor and guides ships into the port.
