About Mundaú Lighthouse
The Mundaú lighthouse is a cylindrical concrete tower, 7 meters tall, located across the coastal road from Mundaú beach. Painted with red and white horizontal bands, its light emits a white flash every 3 seconds from a focal height of 33 meters. The station was established in 1923 and has a geographic range of 15.9 nautical miles. The site is open to the public, but the tower is closed. The lighthouse is situated about 150 km west of Fortaleza in the Ceará region, near the port of Paracuru.
