About Mukho South Groyne Lighthouse
This cylindrical concrete tower, painted white, stands 11 meters tall at the end of a south groin breakwater. It is situated approximately 350 meters south of the older West Breakwater and has a focal height of 14 meters. The lighthouse emits a green flash every 4 seconds, visible for 11.6 nautical miles. Constructed from concrete, the round tower is part of the maritime infrastructure near the port of Tonghae. The site is open to the public, though the tower itself is closed to visitors.
Why it matters: The lighthouse marks the extremity of the south groyne breakwater, guiding vessels safely into and out of the port of Tonghae.
