This cylindrical lighthouse, standing 9 meters tall, marks a reef approximately 10 kilometers east of the southern tip of Safaga Island. Constructed from stone and fiberglass, its tower is yellow with a black band at the top. The structure features a round hourglass-shaped fiberglass tower mounted on a stone pier. It emits a quick-flashing white light with a geographic range of 10 nautical miles. The site is open to visitors, but the tower itself is closed.
Why it matters: The lighthouse marks the hazardous Middle Reef, providing a visual identifier and guiding vessels clear of the submerged danger.
