First lit in 2013, the Las Animas Range Rear light is a square skeletal metal tower, 8 meters high, painted white. Its focal height is 100 meters, and it displays a white flash every 10 seconds with a geographic range of 24.9 nautical miles. The tower is located on a ridge west of Topolobampo. The range was moved northwest about 2013. A paved area on the slope acts as a visual marker.
Why it matters: This range light marks the harbour entrance for Topolobampo, assisting vessels in staying within the defined channel.
