About Ippado Lighthouse
Constructed in 2007, the Ippado Lighthouse is a 26-meter tall, round, cylindrical concrete tower. Its white structure features a lantern and gallery at the top. The light emits a single white flash every 10 seconds, visible for nearly 27 nautical miles. It stands on the island of Ippado, situated at the entrance to the harbors of Dangjin and Pyeongtaek. The island itself is remote, accessible only by sea.
Why it matters: This lighthouse marks the entrance to the Dangjin and Pyeongtaek harbors, which are significant port facilities.
