About Ilha Do Medo Lighthouse
Constructed of masonry, this 60-meter cylindrical skeletal tower stands on a square base. It was built and first lit in 1950. The lighthouse emits three white flashes every 15 seconds. Its focal plane is 60 meters above sea level, providing a geographic range of 25 nautical miles. The tower is painted white. It is located on the highest point of an island in the Baia de São Marcos.
