An hourglass-shaped fiberglass tower stands 10 meters tall at the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula. Painted with its upper half black and lower half white, the structure rises to a focal height of 15 meters. Its white light emits a single flash every 20 seconds, visible for nearly 12 nautical miles. This lighthouse is situated within Ra's Muhammed National Park, at the end of a barren, rocky peninsula. The site is open to the public, though access to the tower is not permitted. Its nearest port is Sharm ash Shaykh, approximately 8 kilometers away.
Why it matters: This lighthouse marks the extreme southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, a critical navigational hazard for vessels entering or exiting the Gulf of Suez.
