Guerrero Negro (Puerto Venustiano Carranza, Laguna Ojo de Liebre) Lighthouse

This round, cylindrical concrete tower, standing 16 meters tall, was constructed in 1960 with four distinct ribs and a gallery. It marked the entrance to the salt works wharf in Laguna Ojo de Liebre, northwest of Guerrero Negro. Though operational for a short period, the lighthouse was deactivated in the 1970s, and its lantern was subsequently removed. It has since been replaced by range lights. The site is accessible to the public, but the tower itself remains closed.

Why it matters: The lighthouse was established to guide vessels navigating the lagoon's entrance for salt loading operations, underscoring the economic importance of the salt works in the mid-20th century.
