About Gamcheon Hang Entrance Range Front Lighthouse
This square steel skeletal tower, standing 101 meters tall, was built and first lit in 2011. It displays a continuous green light from a focal height of 106 meters, visible for 25.5 nautical miles. The tower's exterior is painted white and red. In 2016, the Admiralty renumbered this range light as part of navigational chart updates. The lighthouse is located in Busan, marking the western side of the Gamcheon harbor entrance.
Why it matters: One of the world's tallest navigational aids, its height and continuous green light provide critical guidance for vessels entering Gamcheon harbor.
