About Dongameo Hang North Breakwater Lighthouse
Located on the north breakwater at Dongameo, this red, round, cylindrical concrete tower stands 11 meters high. With a focal height of 12 meters, it produces a red light with a characteristic of flashing once every 4 seconds. The light has a geographic range of 11 nautical miles. Constructed and illuminated starting in 2007, the structure allows site access but does not permit entry into the tower. The nearest port, Busan, is 10.5 kilometers distant.
Why it matters: This navigation mark indicates the northern side of the entrance to Dongameo Hang, assisting vessels entering the sheltered port.
