About Dobrich Province Lighthouses Lighthouse
A square skeletal tower built of steel, the Krapets Lighthouse stands 15.5 meters tall with a focal height of 36 meters. It features red and white horizontal bands. Constructed in 1967, the lighthouse is situated on a promontory north of Krapets, approximately 10 kilometers south of the Romanian border. Its geographic range is 16.4 nautical miles. The lantern has been removed from the structure. The site is open to the public, but the tower itself remains closed.
Why it matters: The Krapets Lighthouse, identical in design to the Kamen Bryag lighthouse, represents a particular style of navigational aid for the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.
