The structure features a lantern and gallery. This white tower emits a single white flash every 15 seconds, visible for approximately 25.4 nautical miles. It is situated on a small island about 50 kilometers west of Mokpo, a location designated as a restricted bird sanctuary. The lighthouse is operational and located near the city of Bigeum in South Korea's South Jeolla region. Several auxiliary buildings are also part of the station.
