About Bieungdo Hang West Breakwater Lighthouse
Also known as: #Bieungdo Hang West Breakwater
A cylindrical concrete tower, 12 meters high, was erected in 2008 at the end of the east breakwater for a small boat harbor in Bieungdo. This structure, painted white and featuring a lantern and gallery with three ribs, emitted a green light. The original lighthouse was replaced between 2019 and 2020 during a period when the breakwater was shortened. The current light is a green flash every 5 seconds. The site is accessible to the public, but the tower remains closed.
Why it matters: The light marks the entrance to the Bieungdo small boat harbor, guiding local fishing and recreational vessels.
