This cylindrical concrete tower stands 10 meters tall, with its light positioned 17 meters above sea level. Located on the main north breakwater at Ayajin, it is approximately 8 kilometers north of Sokcho in Gangwon State. The structure is painted red and features eight fins, giving it a design reminiscent of a rocket. It emits a single red flash every 5 seconds, visible for a geographic range of 12.4 nautical miles. While the lighthouse site is accessible to the public, the tower itself is closed to entry.
Why it matters: This lighthouse guides local vessels into Ayajin harbor, especially those approaching from the north. Its unique rocket-like shape serves as a recognizable landmark for mariners.
