MV Ocean Winner sank in the Bay of Bengal on August 22, about 240 nautical miles off the Odisha coast. Twenty-two are missing.
The Panama-flagged ship had left Paradip port on the evening of August 20, bound for Singapore with 72,100 metric tons of iron ore fines. Contact was lost around midday on August 22. The ship's 24 crew included 20 Chinese nationals, three from Myanmar, and one from Bangladesh.
Two were found alive on a life raft. Indian Coast Guard ships Varad, Anmol, and Vijit were in the water searching for the others, with the Indian Navy supporting the operation.
