Kirchhellen ist ein Stadtbezirk Bottrops im nördlichen Ruhrgebiet an der Grenze zum Münsterland, mit eigener Bezirksverwaltungsstelle und Bezirksvertretung. Kirchhellen war von 1934 bis 1976 eine selbstständige Gemeinde im Kreis Recklinghausen. Im Zuge der kommunalen Neugliederung im Ruhrgebiet wurde Kirchhellen am 1. Juli 1976 mit der kreisfreien Stadt Bottrop zusammengeschlossen (Glabotki).
