Constructed in 1882, the Zumaia Lighthouse stands on Monte Atalaya near the port of Zumaia in Spain's Basque Country. It features a cylindrical stone tower, 12 meters high, painted white with blue trim. An octagonal masonry structure topped with a lantern and gallery, it is attached to a two-story keeper's house. The lighthouse emits two red flashes every 7 seconds from a focal height of 41 meters. Its light can be seen for 17.2 nautical miles. The site is open to the public, but the tower remains closed.
