Zolotoy Lighthouse

Iso White 6s🇷🇺RUOperational

Also known as: Zolotoy (Mys Zolotoy)

Established in 1960, the Zolotoy Lighthouse stands on a promontory in Russia's Primorsky Krai region. The 20-meter octagonal cylindrical stone tower, which includes a lantern and gallery, was originally painted with red and white vertical stripes. By 2006, the red markings had faded considerably, and recent observations indicated the structure was in poor condition. The lighthouse emits a white light on an isophase cycle every 6 seconds, visible for 15.5 nautical miles. Its construction replaced an earlier tower from 1930.

Why it matters: The lighthouse aids navigation along a remote section of the Primorsky Krai coast, helping vessels pass the promontory where it is located.
