About Aniva Lighthouse
Aniva Lighthouse, also called Nakashiretoko, was built and first lit in 1939. The 31.2-meter tower stands 40 meters above sea level. It emits a white light. This lighthouse is situated on a rock off the tip of Cape Aniva, at the entrance to Aniva Bay. The structure is a concrete cylinder with a metal observation deck and lantern room.
Why it matters: This lighthouse is a candidate heritage site in Russia. It marks the eastern entrance to the La Pérouse Strait.

The Aniva Lighthouse (Russian: маяк Анива) also known as Nakashiretoko is located on the South East of Sakhalin island, in the North Pacific Ocean.
