About Zaliv Mordvinova Lighthouse
This square brick tower, standing 9 meters tall, was built in 1972. It rises from a two-story brick building that originally served as a racon station constructed in 1969. The focal height of the light is 15 meters, emitting an isophase white light. With a geographic range of 11.9 nautical miles, it marks the coastal area near Zaliv Mordvinova. The racon station functionality was integrated into the structure from its early development. The site is open to the public, but the tower itself is closed.
Why it matters: The light guides vessels navigating Mordvinova Bay, a bight partially sheltered by Cape Svobodnyy, and warns them of the specific coastal features. Its integrated racon station provided advanced navigational capabilities for the region.
